Ep. 14 – My addresses: Musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac

Address: 37 Quai Branly, 75007 Paris

This Wednesday, I was walking around Paris, somewhat aimlessly, somewhat purposefully. After going to the American Library in Paris, I ventured down a street that brought me to the Musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac. It was a museum I had heard about ever so vaguely, but I decided to visit since I was there and had a free schedule!

Located in the 7th arrondissement of Paris on the left bank of the Seine, the museum quai Branly - Jacques Chirac features a global collection of tribal artefacts, from indigenous cultures of Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas. It has a collection of 450,000 objects, which 3,500 are on display at a time.

But it's not just the museum that was noteworthy: there's a beautiful garden in which you can sit and relax in, just to take a little breather on a hot day, or even have a little 4 o'clock picnic, like I did.

  • Nice!
This looks right up my street! On my ‘places to visit’ list 😊

    • Thanks Emily! Yes, I really enjoyed it. You should really visit if you get the chance to be in the area! It’s a nice place to relax, walk around, and learn about different cultures and art. 🙂

      • Brilliant!
Where from did you move to Paris?

        • I moved from Bordeaux, where I’d been living for 3 years, to Paris in December 2016! 🙂 I also lived in the south of France for a long time, too.
          Originally though I’m from California.
          Basically, I’ve moved around a lot!! 😉
